Should you join Autonomous or Affiliated college ? Which is better ? Honest opinion

affliliated vs autonomous

If you are reading this article then you might be in the ambiguity of choosing colleges.
As you are new to BTech, Let me give you clarity about Autonomous, Affiliated colleges, and paper corrections.
you might have already known there are two types of colleges in our state.

Autonomous vs affiliated

OVERVIEW:

Advantages of Autonomous colleges:

  • They have full rights over their college on framing academic curriculum, syllabus, exams, etc
  • When it comes to paper correction of an autonomous college:
  • Mostly autonomous papers are corrected by self, but few colleges send their papers to other colleges.
  • Autonomous1 college sends their papers to an Autonomous2 college for correction.
Autnonomous2 corrects and awards marks to the students.
  • This is the main advantage of autonomous colleges, as the papers are limited in number, the quality of correction will be good.

Disadvantages of Autonomous colleges:

  • As they are not bound by all rules of the Universities and Government. So, they can make their own fee structures, which prove to be very high for common and poor people.
  • As they are allowed to make their own rules/regulations, some of their rules may be quite disturbing.

Advantages of Affiliated colleges:

  • The rules and regulations are set by the respective university.
  • Needs to adhere to UGC rules and regulations for daily operations.
  • You will get certificate directly from university.
  • A common syllabus for all.

Disadvantages of Affiliated colleges:

  • As the papers are corrected in bulk, the quality of paper correction is slightly worse compared to autonomous.
  • They can’t make their own decisions, strictly follow university.

Opinion:

  • There no tough or lose in a paper correction.
  • When it comes to an autonomous college: as said
Autonomous1 college sends their papers to an Autonomous2 college for correction.
Autnonomous2 corrects and awards marks to the students.
  • This is the main advantage of autonomous colleges, as the papers are limited in number, the quality of correction will be good.

Coming to non-autonomous/SF/Constituent aka Affiliated colleges the papers are sent to the university, as there are many papers to correct, they invite faculty from various colleges for correction, So, they get paid for every bundle, they try to finish many bundles in the least amount time, In this process, many papers are corrected with ignorance,
the person who wrote very well may get average marks and the person who thought of fail may pass easily.

So, shouldn’t I prefer affiliated colleges?

let me tell why autonomous colleges have a huge pass rate compared to affiliated colleges:
as you might know that many colleges with autonomous status are considered as top colleges, so the person who is already a topper in EAMCET/ECET will prefer autonomous first. As he/she already a merit candidate, will perform well in the exams.
As many affiliated colleges are not preferred by rankers, as you know many non-rankers don’t perform well in exams compared to rankers.
that’s the main reason for the failure rate in non-autonomous colleges.

there are many affiliated colleges like MGIT, KMIT where the passing percentage is very high compared to other affiliated colleges, it is due to those colleges are preferred by rankers.

Autonomous ≠ Pass

You won’t get passed if you study in an autonomous college.
I’ve seen many students who get failed even though they belong to the autonomous college.
The justification will be much better in autonomous colleges for what you have written in the paper.

Why do many people claim JNTUH for its bad correction? Why not OU or KU?

As said there are many(around 200+) affiliated colleges for a single university i.e JNTUH.
The failure rate will be very high in the most affiliated colleges which are not preferred by rankers.
so, its all due to the people who don’t perform well in exams and claim in JNTUH.
As OU and KU have very few affiliated colleges, the correction would be a little better.

You might expect 10, but you get 8 this is all happens. but you won’t get failed.

So, take your own decision. don’t be panic of you get an affiliated college. They are also good ones.

Your marks completely depend on how you perform in the examination.

The only reason to join autonomous is

YOU WILL BE JUSTIFIED ACCURATELY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN IN THE PAPER

Am a JNTUH student I know what goes in.
This is just an opinion.
Thanks.
